Each time your puppy eats, immediately take it outside. Puppies urinate almost immediately after eating and frequently have bowel movements as soon as eating. If your dog is grown, you may have to use rewards, take it out, if it urinates give it a little treat. If it doesn't bring him back in, if uses bathroom in house. Tap with newspaper say no, and back outside the two of you go. Majority of dogs catch on quick for they like to please there owners, and don't like being scold.

When I got my puppy, he's 1 1/2 years old now, I was worried about housetraining him. As soon as we woke up in the morning I would put him out and watch and make sure he went to the bathroom. After I had to leave for work, I put newspaper down on the kitchen floor (enough layers to absorb) and he would do all his "business" on the newspapers. Then I'd let him out again. Puppies can't really "hold" their bladder for very long, so if you have to leave him alone for long periods of time (like going to work) I think the newspapers are the best. After your puppy is about 9 months to a year old, it will be able to "hold" it until you are able to let him out. Good luck.....

I know exactly how to do this so take it from an expert. First you have to let it sniff around your yard and you have to decide where you want it to 'do' every day. Then think up a word you'd like for him to do 'it' on command. Once he/she sniffs it he'll do and you just repeat the desired word over and over. When he/she does it someplace else dont say the desired word then he/she will understand the difference. A way of showing it did good is to give it a treat avery time he doo-doos in the desired area on the desired word. I hope this answers your question.
