The most famous person who has died in the war was reporter "David Bloom." He was the NBC reporter in the beginning of the war who would ride in tanks with the soldier's and they dubbed it the "Bloom mobile."
What happened was he wasn't drinking enough water and he was sleeping cramped up inside tanks...........these two things together caused a blood clot in his leg called a DVT. People around him remember him walking around the last couple of days complaining of a pain in his calf.
Unfortunately, no one suspected that the pain he was complaining of was a blood clot. The blood clot eventually broke off and traveled to his lungs and killed him instantly. He was walking around fine one minute and dead the next.
It was so sad because he was in his 30's with small children at home. He was so handsome and charismatic and I really enjoyed watching his reports every night on tv. He was trying to be a real news reporter right in the middle of all the action, and something as simple as not drinking enough water and sleeping cramped up with his legs bent caused his death. So sad.
Anyway, I'm sure other famous people have died, but David Bloom is who came to mind immediately when I saw your question.

Any death over here is as tragic as any other. I'm at a base in the anbar province that has all the services represented. I've never been around a more professional and dedicated group of military professionals. From the lowest to the highest ranking it's always a tragedy when we lose anyone regardless of rank or stature.

Once and for all, PAT TILLMAN DIDN'T DIE IN IRAQ! He died in Afghanistan, the victim of "friendly fire;" U.S. troops killed him and covered it up initially and still won't give his family the full story! So you can't say Tillman died in the Iraq war!

You are not going to get the answer you are looking for because the implication is that if a Celebrity dies in Iraq - that death is more significant than the deaths of non-Celebrities. I believe this group feels that your thinking is distorted.
