There is something wrong if Derek Jeter does not win the MVP. Yes David " The Baby" Ortiz had good numbers but Derek's numbers were just as impressive and they actually meant something. Granted had Ortiz hit 70 Hr's he could be in the race but he doesnt play in the field and therefore only comtributes to the team half the time. Derek hit over 300 and almost had 100 rbi from the 2 hole...that is no easy task.
As for the NL Ryan Howard has to take it. Pujols did have good numbers but he was injured for too long and Howards numbers are too impressive to ignore
AL - Jeter
NL - Howard

ryan howard NL-the only player to hit over 50 hrs in a season, knock in 130 rbis nd not win the mvp was luis gonzalez in 2001...the same year bonds hit 73 hrs nd won mvp
i think of all ppl that r up for the mvp u gotta go wit craig monroe of the tigers. the reason that the award is givin out after the world series is so the voters can evaluate the whole season(perfect example...last year a-rod[who blows btw]wins al mvp, but has one hit all postseason. he did the same thing this year. atleast the real mvp..david ortiz..hit a homerun)
in all honesty..the award should go to monroe...but it will prolly go to jeter just cause hes a yankee

Derek Jeter! .344, 97 RBIs, 34 steals, and he plays shortstop, a key defensive position, unlike SOME players in the AL I could name!
I think it has to be Albert Pujols in the N.L. Ryan Howard had a great year, but his team didn't even make the playoffs, Pujols is the best hitter in the game as well.
Oh, BTW, DH Ortiz is a crybaby ("Jeter doesn't do as much for his team as I do for mine, WAH WAH WAHHHHH"!!)

its probably going to be jeter in the a.l. i basically consider it a lifetime achievement award which is rediculous. right i know he had a good year last year, probably his best, but isnt the m.v.p. the most valuable to his own team? the yankees would have found a way to win without him in the regular season. justin mourneau meant everything to the twins. he and dye had the best all around hitting stats in the a.l. without mournaeu the twins go nowhere last year, they would have never made the playoffs and he hit in the clutch countlessly when they needed it the most. as for the n.l. hopefully pujols, so he can be that much closer to beating one of bonds' records and by the time he retires hopfully all of them.
