I nearly always have at least one obsession,
and I think they all begin as "curiosity"

Curiosity for the taste of beer, wine, and liquor became alcoholism for me. There are an infinite number of alcoholisms. Mine I'm still wrestling with.
Curiosity for the joys of sex led me in an odyssey of the flesh. Yeah, I was a ho.
Curiosity to know more of death led me to the military. Killing is over-rated, and the obsession of it can be damning.
Curiosity for knowledge has almost led me to a Faustian obsession. Might that my Margaretha help bring me to divine Grace.

most times it doesn't become an obsession, because once you find out what the curiosity is, you usually don't see anything more curious about it, but there are times of course......

Yes.. and sometimes it gets way too out of hand but eventually I get a grip on it, just don't let it control you.
