the mass air flow sensor is mounted in the air intake tube or the opening of the throttle body. it measures how much air is entering the engine in gallons per mile. the computer uses this and other sensor readings to calculate injector pulse width(how long to turn the injector on and off) for maximium engine efficiency.

To simply put it, a mass airflow sensor is a sensor that detects the amount of air that's flowing into your engine. On most of the engines in where I come from, this sensor is located either just after the carbon airbox, or near the intake manifold. It's purpose is to measure the amount of air coming into the engine, and supply this info to your engine's computer. The computer will then know how much fuel to pump into the engine maintain a constant air/fuel ratio.

every1 is rite my sugesstions is if the service light is on and the car is running poorley have a mec to hook it up to a computer and it will tell u what sensor is out about 45$ and sometime the mass air flow sensor can become lazy and not trip the ses light but if it is the sensor u will have poor fuel economy hard starts stalling etc sensor depend on the make and model it usaly about 30-60$

It's "Mass airflow sensor".
It measures how much air enters your cars intake so that the fuel injectors know how much fuel to inject to get the proper air/fuel mixture.

never heard of a max airflow sensor, i have although heard of a mass airflow sensor which measures air charge volume going in to the intake on your car

i think you mean mas air flow sensor.it burns unused fuel the engine doesnt use and helps the emissions.
