Go to the doctor and find out what's going on! Why would you want to be in pain if you can get some help?

Knees are pretty painful when they decide to act up. Take some Motrin, prop you leg out straight and put something cold on the knee- like a bag of frozen peas. Make an appointment with the doctor to have the knee looked at, and in the meantime don't do any more walking than you have to do. Keep ice on it as much as possible and keep it propped out straight. If you can get an inexpensive knee brace from the pharmacy, that might help support it and make it feel better when you have to walk on it. The doctor is the only one who can decide what exactly you have done. It sounds like you have injured a tendon somehow, and only the doctor can tell for sure.

Your ACL, MCL, (ligaments around the knee) or meniscus may be torn. ICE it at night, take some ibuprofen, and if you have insurance go to an orthopedic doctor and get it scoped. You may need surgery. If you don't have insurance get an ace bandage and stabilize it from moving from side to side. Good luck. Knee pain is the worse.

If you are in that much pain you need to go to emergency, you probably have popped it out or torn some ligaments, put ice on it right away and go seek help, good luck.
