For the listing fee and the closing fee. Does the fees come straight out of my checking acct or do they deduct the fees off the money I make selling the stuff?

All payments made to Ebay are usually automatically taken out of your bank account every month. That's only if you have supplied your bank details. Otherwise, it takes it out of your credit card. It doesn't take it out of your account immediately. It would usually take at least 5-20 days. You can see how much you have to pay back by clicking on the SELLERS ACCOUNT link in the MY EBAY section.

Ebay doesn't deduct from the money you make on ebay. The buyers send you the money and you keep it. Ebay adds up all your listing, closing, etc. fees for a months time, then they will take it out of your credit card or bank account(whichever you specify on your account info) the next month.

Open a PayPal account that is linked to a regular bank account.
PayPal is a reliable method for making online payment to many merchants, not just eBay.
