Way to go girl! Try calling schools that offer home ec and see if they have used sewing machines that they may give you or buy for a minimal price.
Maybe a local sewing machine repair shop can help you out. If you tell them what you're planning on doing, I think they'd help you out. Walmart has some very inexpensive (and good!!) sewing machines that you can get for less than $100.00. I believe sewing is the way to go. Your projects will be stronger and last a lot longer than any glue will. Good luck and I hope you make lots of $$$.

O.k. O.k. O.k., I make pillows and I am here to tell you that you do NOT have to use the sewing machine to make them. Yes, using the machine is nice, but hey, if you don't have one, Don't fret!!
There is a product in any craft store or at Wal-Mart in the craft department. It is a spray adhesive. Kind of like glue in a spray can. You can fold the edges of the pillow fabric over to hide the raw edges and spray the underside of the fold. Do this on three sides of the fabric. Get some polly fill or stuffing to put in the fabric and then spray the fold on the last side and stick it down to the other piece of fabric for the back. Now these pillows are going to be mostly for show anyway so moving them about alot and playing with them is not a concern. You can buy any kind of design you want to put on the material before you begin. Or get an iron on transfer. Those really come out nice.

What a cute idea for Christmas gifts! Sewing is how it is suppose to be done. I have never heard of glue. Well, except for to glue on like trim or beads. You dont have to be a pro to sew pillows I did it a lot in school. Its really easy. You dont need a sewing machine either but if you want one you can usually find them dirt cheap at consignment shops or like good will. I hope you have fun and make some money!!!!!!!

no if you're gonna make a pillow, you need to use the sewing machine. you don't need a fancy sewing path, because all you're doing is sewing a rectangle or square of fabric, stuffing either batting or something plush inside of it, then sewing it closed... but if you're doing it by hand then you would need a needle and thread. ask someone in your family if someone does sewing. believe me you would be surprised.. but you need to sew it because fabric glue will hold, but then your stuffing it so it won't do too good... i would try and make something else if you can't get access to a sewing machine. you can make no sew fleece blankets.. those are cute and you can probably make some money...

Hey

Do it like this. Imagine you have wo rectangles, the same size. Now assume that the rectangles are 50cm's in width by 30cm in height. (alway remember that stitching up, will make the garmet smaller).

Now when looking at one on the rectangles, (the 30cm in height side) you should fold the ends in, so that it can create a pocket for tugging in the seconds rectangle when sealed together.

Once you have done this, then sew both horizontal sides together, the only one side of the verticle side, then turn it inside out and bam, theres your cussion.

As far as gluing is concerned, dont do this, as its likely to fall apart. I dont know how old you are but it should be sewn for a longer lasting cussion.

Another thing is, as long as you ain to sew in a straight line, that will be ok, because the sewing is going to be on the inside.

Gluing doesnt last and the likelyhood is that people will come back asking for their money.

hope this helps

See if your local paper has a used merchandise section in it. Mine does and I've seen sewing machines for as little as $10. A sewn pillow will hold up longer. Glue the trims on if you want.

Sewing definitely is better, but don't expect to make quick money this way.
