To really improve your flexibility you need to stretch AFTER the workout, when your muscles and tendons are all warmed up. There is a lot of discussion about whether stretching really helps before exercise.

There are many routines that can work, find one that you like and will do on a regular basis.

Well, this was orignally a runners stretching program but this will also benefit you. For the first few times, it will take you longer and you will sweat alot but as you get more expirenced you will become mor eefficent. THis program lengthened my stride by a few inches within 3 days! The basic rules are breath into the stretch and out to get out of the stretch. You should hold the stretch for 2 seconds and repeat this 10-20 times depending on what you need to stretch more or less. By this basic rule, you can do any stretch. For instance, start off with the calve stretch on a wall. Hold it for 2 seconds (breath in and out) and release then repeat the steps again. Attempt to do this routine at least 3 times a day. This will extremely lenghten your flexibility
