What is so great about the Ipod, am I missing out on anything?

No, ipods work ok but creative mp3 player work just as well for half the price.

ipods being better made is a myth.
I am a computer tech and i get calls all about ipods that will not turn on, will not sync or they just don't know why it will not work. Sometimes it is the software but a lot of the item the ipod is dead

I do like apple for their computers (not saying it is better than pc)
just their mp3 player is over hyped

most people say things like "you can play all your songs"
all brands let you do this. Say something that only the ipod can do, (games don't count, that is what the gameboy is for)

Well, besides the name, not too much. But it is great when you want a specific song, you can just go to a list of all your songs, and you can make playlists so you only hear the songs you want to at different times, so you can have a playlist for parties and one for chillin in your room, or going for a jog. Plus they come with a lot of cool accessories. And you don't have to buy batteries, which would probobly save you some cash.

So it really depends what you want out of an mp3 player.

You're missing out on convenience, an easy to use interface, and the Apple brand name, that's about it.

I haven't had an Ipod, but that's just because I don't want them. I honestly don't think that I'm missing out on much. I've heard so much bad stuff about them, like if you play it too loud it can damage your ear drums. And how do you know what "too loud" is?

iPods are great because they are very user-friendly. they are also made by mac, which just seems to be a better product (:-P yes i love mac). i had a friend with a regular mp3 player. she had to replace it every three months because no matter which brand she got or which kind of pc she used, they screwed up. and no, she wasn't abusing it. i've had my iPod for a year and i haven't had one problem with it.

Many ppl would skip your question becauz it's not detailed enuff. I say the iPod's clickwheel is very easy to use, and iPod is displayed in most stores and many ppl use iPods. iPod actually isn't any great, since it depends on iTunes and have many litmitations.
