It sounds like you have a vaginal infection... such as a yeast infection.

I would recommend seeing a doctor if this is your first encounter with a yeast infectiong. I know it can be embarassing but it's important to know for sure what it is so you can have it treated.

If it is a yeast infection and your doctor confirms it, you will be able to tell what it is next time and just go buy Monostat (or other over the counter treatment).

Research has shown that daily ingestion of yogurt containing the bacterium Lactobacillus acidophilus helps in the prevention and treatment of candidal vaginitis (a.k.a. yeast infections).

Hope that helps.

HI JoJo, Sweety you have a yeast infection. Do you wear underwear that doesn't have a cotton lining??? If you do this is your problem. Buy cotton underwear and you won't get yeast infections anymore. Go to Wal-mart and go to the section with the tampons and so on. You will find alot of creams for a yeast infection. You might want to use what alot of the answering persons are telling you,or find a employee to help you get the best one. You should start feeling better in a couple of days. A Friend.

It's probably a yeast infection - you're body is going through a bunch of hormonal changes, and there's probably a slight imbalance that is causing a yeast infection. It's not too big of a deal, it's a fairly common occurance in some women, and there's lot of over-the-counter medications to help. However, I would suggest you make an appointment to see your dr, just to make sure there isn't another problem going on.

You probably have a yeast infection. Is there any dischage?
Itching, swelling, redness and discharge are all signs of yeast infection. It'is not sexually transmitted, but rather occurs from overgrowth of certain bacteria that is usually present in the vagina. Eat lots of palin yogurt, cut down on sweets, and see a doctor.

swelling is not a sign of yeast infection swelling is a sign of Bacterial Vaginosis which is just as treatable see your doctor don't assume its a yeast infection most women don't really know too much about BV they just assume its a yeast infection but yeast infection don't swell if you have a fish liek odour then it probably is BV for sure but either way just go its not a big deal doctors see it all the time

PS Bacterial Vaginosis is more common then yeast infection yest infection meds will take away the itching but not the smell if it bv and you will more then likely have another outbreak later
