It is a crosscourt pass from one sideline to the other, but how do you determine it as a skip pass?

A "skip pass" is a pass directly across court, "skipping" one or more offensive players in the succession around the perimeter. It is thrown over top of the defense (it does NOT bounce, as someone before me said).

You saw what happened in the Finals. He thought he could take Durant's spot in the Finals to be the go-to guy in the Thunder. I think Skip is 100 percent correct. I think the Lakers with their new line-up and an improved Darius Morris and Devin Ebanks off the bench are going to murder the Thunder in the playoffs next year. I don't think the Lakers will finish that well in the regular season but will murder in the playoffs. Truly, I think Lakers are going to win it all. Westbrook and Durant isn't going to work out. I say get rid of Westbrook for a bunch of role players and play James Harden in the point. Possibly trade Westbrook for a good center or power forward. With Nash, the Lakers' big men will eat the Thunder alive. Westbrook is horrible.

In offense when a player instead of passing to the nearest possible player, passes it to the next player... in effect "skipping" a pass. This is usually done to disrupt the normal defensive rotation of opponents where they assume you will pass it to the nearest possible player.

there is usually 3 guards around the top. when a person on the wing has the ball and throws it to the other side, it skips the middle player.

you usually throw a skip pass to the other wing, because they would be the person open. it is a tricky pass as you must throw over the defense the width of the court.

because the ball is skipped over one person like on the three point line you have the point guard and the 2 wings and if the ball is skipped from the wing it is skipped over the point guard.
