Only about 5% of babies are born exactly on their due date. But over 85% are born within two weeks of their due date.

They say only 3-5% of women actually have their baby on the actual due date. Dates established from ultra sounds can be wrong by as much as 1 week before or after 40wks.
Ive never known any of the women in my family or friends for that matter who have had their baby on the actual due date. But it is a good way to look at it as a guide to how far along you might be.

Check out the research on this site: http://www.dogfish.org/chris/fun/delivery.html
it states: "In the following, the x axis is in weeks, relative to the due date. The y axis is in percentage of babies delivered during that week. The mean is -0.5 weeks, and the standard deviation is 2.12 weeks. Note that this mean implies that babies tend to be delivered before, not after, the due date (which contradicts the common wisdom). "

of all the people I know that have kids, none were born on there due date! Its generally just an estimate and it could be anywhere 2 weeks either side, so I guess 1 in 29?

(-: I'd say very rare -- my second was born on her due date, but I don't know of *any* other baby that actually was. It's just a guide line, you know.
Exceptions: planned C-sections. Although, I suppose the due date is often inconvenient, so doctors do it on a different date.

Couldn't tell you, but I bet you'd be happy if it happened. Mine were 2 days early and 2 days late. Best wishes to you and your family.
