This is not saying that there will be. We are going a UN role play and the person playing the US wanted one of the resolutions to be that the UN supports the establishment of nuclear power plants. I'm Indonesia...Any ideas??

Here's one reason why there is opposition. The United States is playing the role of a global empire that is trying to dominate the world. Iran is seen as a threat to the security of that role. The only other country that should feel threatened by nuclear activity in Iran should be Israel. I look forward to the day when the United States no longer abuses its powers. I'm an American.

to the asker -- thanks for giving us the opportunity to answer on a very important question not only 4 Iran and 4 the USA -- for the humanity in general. I totally disagree with the first answer you have received -- i.e. the domination of USA in the world political scene. the USA is USA what USA wants to be with the will of its people. the same can not be said for Iran -- a country that proclaims rights -- not only on its own people but for the surrounding regions/countries -- and the world population. these nuclear power plants are dangerous --in all aspects -- and people have to understand their direct and indirect implications for humanity. Chernobyl was one incident but man kind makes many errors in the parcours to master technology. in resume -- Iran should not have access to these nuclear armaments whatever its intentions are-- even if put in writing. the "whys" are easy to comprehend, they are dangerous specially in the hands of a leader who proclaims -- he has an "eraser in hand -- and he will change the map of the region". This case is not rested, but we need, like the asker, the silent majority to speak up and be counted.

I guess maybe the unstability of the country. I for one would not like to see nuclear capabilites in the hands of any country that is prone to being nasty.
