athletics because they need a good DH and also they lost the big hurt to the jays. If bonds sings with the padres then he will have to play left field which is also a terrible defender that's why he should go to the A's

Neither. He should go to a retirment home for old age, falling apart, temper-tantrum, overpaid stars. While I agree the A's need a new DH, I don't think Bonds is the answer. He is falling apart and likes to be lifted from games when he doesn't hit home runs in late innings. Any team that he goes to will be reminded on a daily basis that he is only there to break one record. And what happens if he does that in May for example? Retire?
I was at some giants game years ago when he was going after HR 600 or whatever milesstone it was against the cubs. The giants were winning in the bottom of 8, bonds stuck out, he was replaced in left field by another player thinking the game was in the bag, only to have the cubs come back to tie it in 9 and win in 14. Bonds could have had at least two more at bats. We do not want to have a player who cannot commit 150% to the game at hand.
Baseball is not about records, it is play 162 games a year.
His personality also would not fit in Oakland. It has been well documented how loose and fun the a's are. somehow I do not think his big black barc-o-lounger with his back to the rest of the team and the ego that does not fit through the tiny door to the club house would work.

Barry Bonds MUST go to an American League team in order to get a decent number of at-bats without having to play in the field. As a DH, he won;t have to take off day games following night games and will be less likely to need breaks due to the knee pains and other injuries that might occur with an "older" body in the outfield. So, to answer the question, of the two teams proposed, i would say the A's.

I think Barry Bonds should go to the A's because first of all Barry can't afford to be in the Padres because he's prone to injury, not good speed, he can't hit good in Petco Park, and the Padres already have hecka players on their team, too.Why would they want to spend hella money on Bonds?
I think the A's are the perfect to get him if he leaves the G-men because he hit his 714th Career Homer there, and he'll be the perfect DH in replacement for the Big Hurt.
But still I want Barry to stay on the Giants Squad.

The A's simply to be the DH. It would serve him and the team better if he could avoid playing in the field.
But that being said I would put my money on him returning to the Giants, they can and have handled the media attention over his situation and he is still very popular there among Giants fans and dont think Barry doesnt realize this. That is why I predict he will return.

Bonds would last longer moving to the American league with the designated hitter position. The long season and playing the field every day has taken it toll on Barry. Look for him to break Aaron's record from the AL.

He won't be sent to any team! He may sign with a team. If Bonds had to sign between the A's and Padres, I think he would sign with the A's!

Like most people here, I think his best fit would be with the A's so that he can DH. Plus, it looks as if Frank Thomas is leaving Oakland for Toronto, so they have a spot for him now.
I think his best place to go would be Baltimore. He can DH, and with him being a lefty hitter with that short porch in rightfield. Baltimore has the money and has no problem with 'roiders (Sosa, Palmeiro) being on their team. Of course neither does Oakland (Canseco, McGwire, Giambi).

The A's. Bonds will do better with an American League team so he can play DH.
