They listen to sh1ty stuff that comes out of MTV or the radio. Or to disney music or kids pop. They're not opening or listening to what's going on or to what's really important. Its like they're being drones for the future and those who will run the country or will make products for them to buy.
Parents might allow students to listen to the new age music for a few reasons, one so they can be hip, two so they can take away the kids mind from knowing what's really going on. Which later on, nearly everyone will be doing the same old dance and the same old move. Which makes me ask, isn't that what Rage Against The Machine were against, people who become drones.
Jeez, don't mean to sound paranoid. I just hope the 11 year olds like the music they listen to for reason like they enjoy and to sound or be popular.

Probably stuff that they hear from their friends or the mainstream media, such as Radio Disney or MTV *shudders*. Usually this'll be pop, rock, and rap/hip-hop. Most little kids don't like listening to the stuff their parents listen to (though some do) so that's why you get a lot of them listening to, in my opinion, junk music (not always though).

Most are usually listening to crap and junk and a few listen to some great bands or rappers. What they usually listen to depends on parent music vs radio music with pop music and MTV on the radio music side. That's why most listen to crap.

thats if they are supervised, if not...try looking at anything on the top 40 radio stations in your area.
