Well I see "uncle" Teddy Kennedy is at it again. He wants to raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.50 next year, This is going to cost jobs & the poor will still be poor. Until a little while ago I owned a small Business. I paid $9.50 ( after school help) & $ 26 for experanced workers. I had to pay this to get good help. Why not let the market set the wage? I can not find ANYONE making $5.15. Do you know someone who makes that?

I am not in favor of the minimum wage increase. If a person wants to make more money, they need to find a way to attend college or a trade school. Why should we pay more for unskilled, uneducated labor? I think this is why many jobs are outsourced.

I guess it REALLY depends on where you are. I live in a mostly military town and the job market around here is awful. There are lots of jobs, but most of them are $6.00 an hour or less. For example- there is a private medium security men's prison here, and the starting pay for a correctional officer was just raised to $8.50 per hour. That is considered a very good job here. If you have a 4 year degree here, then you are still looking at less than $10.00 per hour in most fields.
