People are very selfish. They don't care about your friends mom.
They care about their car and their hospital bills.
Alot of people see car accidents as easy money.
I know how you feel. My sisters and I were hit by this dude. And my sister was ejected 30 feet from the car and hit the pavement. While my other sister and I sat watching what we presumed was her dying, the asshole stood over her and told her if she dies it was our fault.
But we went to court over it and he was found guilty.
No matter what the circumstance... the world will fix it. Whether your friend and her family knows about it or not.
The One that created you knows and he makes sure that the bad in this world recieves what they put into it.

Money can make "next-of-kin" act in the most apalling way - so I am not surprised strangers wish to "cash in" on the deal.
Disgraceful I know, but hardly a surprise. I guess also if the accident was not their fault, they might reasonably want some compensation - even if the poor woman died.
If I lose control at the wheel and damage your car / house - would you say "oh it's ok, we'll stand the loss as he died" - or would you want the damage put right without you being out of pocket?

If the woman who died caused the accident her estate is responsible for the damages. A lot of insurance companies won't pay unless you make an effort to collect from the person at fault first.

Those people are f*cking horrible!
Was it her fault? And did she not have insurance? Then I would only sue for just enough to fix the damage. It's not those people's fault if she didn't have insurance.
Otherwise, omg!

While death in any circumstance is sad, you don't stop the world
when it occurs. Things go on, matters get resolved and closure
occurs, but not until all the issues are resolved.

that is a really sad story...but really it's just selfishness. some people think that the world should revolve around themselves, but they don't realize what an impact this makes on others' lives. where is the love?

Cold gold makes the heart cold.
We need the fire of the love of God to heat it up.
