if you use a tanning booth ONCE you won't seriously get skin cancer will, you? it just seems really easy to get an even tan that way, and it can't be that harmful one time......can it?

It really depends on the color of your skin naturally. If you normally tan very easily, the effects aren't the same as if your really fair and have a hard time tanning.

The darker your skin the safer you are.

Not likely. Statistics show that the sun is just as harmful to your skin as a tanning booth. Now how often are you outside? A tanning bed becomes risky if you abuse it like some people do. If you just want an even tan, protect your face, and go for it. Depending on the power of the bed, only go 5 Min's the first time if you burn, then use a sunblock next time, and continue @ 5Min's until your skin darkens then gradually go longer. If you do not burn, go 10 the next time but wait a day in between. I don't recommend going longer than 15 Min's, 20 being the most (almost too long.) Take it slow and don't abuse it, you should be fine. If ever you burn let your skin rest for like 2-4 days depending on the intensity. Remember to moisturize. Also if you only go once, you will not see results, you might think you do but in a few hours your skin will cool and you will see no change. I hope this helps.

Not one time; three times a week over a course of even a couple of years can do some serious damage. Once, no biggie. Don't do it again!!! Pale skin can be beautiful. If you want a tan, get a spray on tan. Thats what i do in the summer. Or use the "build a tan" lotion that you can get at a drug store. Good luck...and no more tanning booths.

yes, you can. chances are that you most likely wont, but it IS possible to develop skin cancer. highly unlikely, but it can happen. and plus if you go once and like the results you will be more than likely to go again.

They say it could be harmfull even onetime. I guess you have to have a predispostion to get cancer or a precancer on your skin.
