I checked UCLA's website and it said that the average incoming freshmans GPA was about 4.2. If, for example, i only have a 3.9 grade average (out of 5.0), but got an SAT score of 2250, would I still be able to get in? Basically, i'm asking if someone has a good chance of getting into UCLA with a really high SAT score, but has a GPA lower than the average incoming freshman.

your gpa and sat is pretty good. Again, UCLA is on giving you an average of gpa. Please don't confuse it with an actual acceptance baseline. They also look at your resume and personal statement for a well-rounded student. Good luck

I think you have a good chance of getting into UCLA. Your SAT score is really high and your GPA is only .3 away from the average.

The average gpa does't mean that everyone has this gpa

it depends on your extra-curricular activities, your personal statement, etc - nothing is guaranteed!
