My husband is making the dinner. He has since we have been married. For a long time, the rest of my family lived out of state. Now some are back in the area, but we still prefer to eat at home by ourselves.
Last year, my mom was very ill. My husband made the dinner and packed it up and we took it to her. She didn't eat very much but was very happy for the company. It was her last Thanksgiving and we didn't want her to be alone or to just have Cup-a-Soup.
There will lots left over- so we will be eating Turkey and leftovers for about a week! (fine with us!)
Happy Thanksgiving!

Year after year my husband offers to treat me to lunch or dinner for Thanksgiving. Still after all these years my adult children get sentimental about Thanksgiving day. They say it's just not Thanksgiving without Mom's turkey and old fashioned dressing. They insist nobody's pumpkin pies taste like mine. It's all a farce to get me in the kitchen I know. But, my children asking for me to cook gives me so many warm memories of them being young. We will have our 3 children home, one son inlaw and our one grandchild, my Mom and my brother who is divorced. It will be a full day of eating watching parades, football and eating some more. Just where is Martha Stewart when I need her? :)
