It can be because your body actually produces some milk in your breasts in preparation for pregnancy (just before your period starts), but then if you don't get pregnant, your body re-absorbs the milk and eliminates it after your period. But the milk can build up in the sensitive tissues in the breasts and make the nipples and even the entire breast sore.
I found that taking extra calcium and vitamin E about a week before my period starts I don't get the soreness anymore.
Primrose oil capsules also have helped.
You might also try massaging your breasts a few days before your period to stimulate the flow of blood through the tissues and help flush out the milk more quickly.

Breasts will "hurt" at times before your menstrual cycle - the only other time you will get that "hurting feeling" is when your pregnant. If you have had relations and could be pregnant, I'd run out to the nearest drug store and get a test.
What hurting does NOT mean is that they are growing.
Good luck!

You might want to be more upfront with everyone. When both my ex-wife and my present wife were pregnant, the first thing they told me was their breasts hurt and were tender to the touch. I am not a doctor, but from what you stated, you might want to get a check up or a pregnancy test, particularly since you are a 38C already, I assume you are not a minor by a long shot.

Maybe that's their way of telling you that they need some lovin'. :D And congrats on the measurements. Very nice! You should be happy and thankful you are gifted with the real thing. Many women pay thousands of dollars to get what you've got naturally!

I agree with the others, it's probably PMS, mine starts almost exactly a week before my period.
Hey, and call them boobs if you want! I've always been heavy on top and thought that the word "boobs" was a more fitting description.

I've never heard of that. How old are you becouse breast pain can be a sign of upcoming menstration or a sign of pregnancy. I am 35+ and sometimes I get breast pain before my period.

well depending on your age, yes if you are young or still going through puberty because the tissue in them are changing and you have more nerves duting puberty. or no, it could be that you have done something to them during sleep or injured them, they still have a lot of nerves even when not growing.
