It always you to go about your life safe and compfortable. The meteorologist on TV/radio tell you what to type of weather expect in the future so you can plan accordingly. The National Weather Service and Storm Prediction Centers give you advanced notice of dangerous weather. The National Hurricane Center watches for tropical systems. Meteorology can help us determine why the Climate is changing and how to slow ot stop it.
So just think...without meteorology you might were a sweater when its 90 degrees out, get struck by lightning and walk into a Hurricane all caused by Global Warming and never even know why.

Yes definetely. Just think. If we didn't have the weather channel, or meterologists, nobody would have any idea what is coming. There could be a category 5 hurricane heading right toward ya and you would have no idea. We would have a lot more deaths each year. Meteorology saves a lot of lives. As technology gets better, less people are getting killed from weather related incidents. I don't see how anybody can live without the weather. How can anyone live their lives, not knowing what is going to happen in the following day.

I agree with Alessa. Knowing what's coming will and can save lives, in the not so distant future. Meteorology even helps in the little things- you know, finding out if you need to cancel something because of rain, etc. By focusing on meteorology, we learn more about the earth and the atmosphere surrounding it.

Developing ways to inform people of dangerous weather conditions. If better technology can be developed , millions of lives can be saved from hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, etc.
