I don't mean something like having a speed limit you dislike
I mean something like outlawing rain or requiring all pet alligators to be on a leash (actually that is not stupid it is just weird).

The city I used to live was simply stupid. If you left your trash out after 8:00 the day the garbage truck comes, you get a warning first, then a $1200 fine.

Now that's a pretty good idea, to leave the streets clean and causing cars to travel the road easier, but the penalty is propostorous! That city will do anything for money, seriously! The cops give you a $200 ticket simply because you came out of the road line a bit. They've been giving tickets for the smallest reason!

I could go one, but I'm telling you, that city mayor needs some mental help.

Yes, you can not spit outside ANYWHERE, if you do it's a $75.00 ticket, and that is just one of the multitude of meaningless offenses those money grubbing bastards are trying to enforce. They can take your car permenantly, a proceedure called forfeiture, and sell it at auction for a number of small offenses including a noise violation, that even if you keep your car has a minimum fine of at least 250.00 to 500.00! So in other words don't visit Peoria, Illinois, or anywhere in Illinois for that matter! They will always get you for something!!!!

in bedford pennsylvania. the courthouse steps were ruled as niether state or county property.

this came about because a man (friend of a judge) smacked the hell out of his wife on the steps of the courthouse, the judge did not want to take responsibility and claimed that it happened outside of the courthouse so was out of his juristiction.

the chief of police, a friend of the man's father, did not want to take responsibility so he claimed that his juristiction ends at the first step into a home or building unless he is called to stop a crime in progress, ans that it was the state's problem.

the state fearing a possible lawsuit from anyone that may trip on the steps denied ownership. leaving it to federal property.
the feds deferred to the judge and the eventual outcome was that the courthouse steps are a legal no mans land.

of course the county then stopped mantaining them..

Yes, we still have a law stating no pigs allowed in the city limits. Due to flies they attract.
