South Carolina didn't exist in 1710. The Charter was for a single large colony and it didn't break up into North and South (with enough land left over to eventually become Georgia) until 1712, and South Carolina didn't become an official crown colony until 1729. According to Brittanica online:
Trade with the Indians and export of deerskins constituted the major sources of income, complemented by naval stores after 1710.
However, the answer I think you are looking for is Indigo. The plants that the dye is made from really fueled the economy of the golden age of Charleston.
