I am 1 day before my period and I took 3 hpt. 2 were "Answers" barnd one one from the dollar store.
I took the first "Answers" one with my early morning sample and it was positive but the line was kinda faint. I then went and got a test at the dollar store of a differnt brand and tested with a second sample and it was positive. I also tested with the second "Answers" Test with the second sample and it was Negitive. I haven't been to the Doc but have an apptmnt in 2 Weeks. My friend just told me of 2 girls she knows that had positive tests but were not pregnant... HELP!

For those who commented about the Dollar store HPT I live in a VERY small town. We have 2 dollar stores and I would have to drive around 30 min to get to a Walmart. And when you don't feel weel thats not much of an option :) :)
I must not have given my 3rd test long enough. I looked later and it is positive as well. I used that brand often and I KNOW that leaving them set longer does not change the reading if it is Neg. I have tried it. So I have 3 Positive tests, and I'll take another in the morn. Thanks For your answers!!!!!!!

Oh and By the way we have been trying since Spring and I am VERY VERY happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I'm not a smoker,drinker, and I'm staying away from Choc, pop, sugar etc.

You must get to the doctor but assume you are pregnant until you are told otherwise.

Sounds like you have a bun in the oven. False positives are very rare.. and to get two of them from two different brands would be even more rare.
And to the person that doubts dollar store pregnancy tests..there is nothing wrong with a dollar store pregnancy test. After I found out I was pregnant I went and bought one just to see if they were accurate and it told me the same thing. They test for the same thing. Have the same guidelines. Some of them may not detect the hormone level at a low number, but they still do detect it..
Anyway, good luck..You are probably pregnant and you can probably wait until your appointment in 2 weeks, but act as if you are pregnant (no drinking, smoking, or anything else that would be bad for baby) Better safe than sorry..

Dollar Store pregnancy tests are just as good as the more expensive brands. More than likely you are pregnant. For the test strip to read positive there HAS to be a certain pregnancy hormone in your urine, otherwise it would read negative. You can get a false negative result but it is almost impossible to get a false positive. Hope this helps!

If any line showed up, regardless of how faint, the test picked up the presence of HCG in your urine. HCG is ONLY produced if you are pregnant, or if you're taking certain hormones.
More likely than not, you're pregnant. A false positive these days is almost unheard of. Those test strips are accurate.
Your doctor is going to tell you the same thing. It's time to start treating your body like you're pregnant. If you smoke, stop. If you drink on the weekends, it's DEFINITELY time to stop that, too. Any and all medicines, over the counter or prescription, need to be approved by a doctor. If you're not taking vitamins, it's time to start. Drink plenty of water, and get plenty of rest.
By what you've said, I'm about 99.9% sure that you're pregnant. Congrats.

I was having the same probelm i was about a week late and took the test, and there was that faint but visualbe line that said yes your pregant, everyone said a line is a line is a line, if its there your pregant, but heres the thing do you feel nausa, or tired, or any syphotms that might make you think that you might be pregant, if so you probly are.

Congratulations,, and get some family..and/or best friends support..pls see your doctor..sounds like your pregnant. It's not the end of the world, but (if positive) will be the biggest challenge of your life. (if you can...and want to pls involve the father of your child ( again if positive) and his family. I think the first test that you took was not inactive but inconclusive which makes the test invaild.. cause i also took two test they both came out negative but i haven't gotten my " aunt flo" in two months. Stress and worrying can also change the whole scenario around as well.

It's very rare to have a false positive. You are most likely pregnant. You can get a blood test to be sure though.

yes it is possible i took two prego tests both cam out positive and when i went to the dr it came out negative... it is called a chemicle pregnantcy where your body has the hormone but doesn't carry the egg to the uterus.... very confusing and upsetting but good luck

It is not likely, but if you need to be reasured get a blood test. It is the most effective way of seeing for sure. Good luck!
