What is happening with Celine Dion?

To date (November 15, 2006): Celine has won a MovieEntertainment 'Entertainer of the Year' Award! Fans were able to vote for her in the category of 'Entertainment Industry's Most Influential Canadian' online at MovieEntertainment.ca! Each winner will choose a charity and a donation will be made as part of their award. Celine was very thrilled to win this award and has issued the following statement: "I'm honored to receive this award, particularly because it was voted on by the readers, the fans... and what makes it more special is that a donation will be made towards my favorite charity, The Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Thank you to everyone who voted for me.

2003 to present Celine Dion does “A New Day” Live In Las Vegas concert for fans. She conceived the idea for the show after seeing O by Dragone early in her break from recording, and began on March 25 2003, in a 4000-seat arena designed for her show. The show, put together by Franco Dragone, is a combination of dance, music, and visual effects. It includes Dion performing her biggest hits against an array of dancers and special effects.

Aside from the Vegas show the last project Celine Dion has been credited for was the October 2005 release of a truly unique book project encompassing Celine's life in words and pictures. 'Celine Dion: For Keeps' is an intimate look into Celine's personal and professional life from her childhood days though to her spectacular show in Vegas. Author Jenna Glatzer spoke with Celine, her family, close friends and associates during the course of a year to come up with a detailed and accurate story of her life. The result is a treasury for Celine's fans: a book which documents Celine's life and times, featuring rare photographs and removable mementos from Celine’s personal collection.

She gave birth to a son, René-Charles Angélil, born January 25, 2001 at 1:00 AM, weighing 6 lbs, 8 oz. He was baptized six months later on July 25, 2001, in Montreal's grand Notre-Dame Basilica.

Is her husband still alive?

Her husband is still alive and well. In 1999, her husband Rene Angelil was diagnosed with throat cancer. The disease responded well to treatment and went into remission.

Has she released any new albums?

The latest Celine album is 'These Are Special Times' which is back on the charts again this season. The album appeared on the 'Soundscan Regional Chart Albums in Quebec' last week. The album was originally released in 1998, this CD features a collection of beautiful holiday songs, including "Ave Maria," "The Prayer" and "Happy Xmas (The War Is Over).
