That will depend on how willing managment is to get some talent for him (i.e. healthy pitchers!). He will work his magic and make them better than last year simply because the team flat out quit on Baker and he should have a healthy Derrick Lee (and that should give him 10-12 wins over this years team alone). A healthy Lee and Ramirez in the middle of the order makes any manager better!

Piniella is a manager, not a miracle worker. The Cubs will have around 75 wins.

I saw how Lou turned things around here for a short while in Seattle. Lou's a good manager and will make a ball club better. The front office just need to let him do what he wants to do (make moves for players and the like). If that happens, I'll bet we see the Cubs as a conteding team before long.

Piniella will freak out just like he did in Tampa Bay. His fuse is too short when it comes to turning a bad team into a good one. The Cubs just don't get it. To top it off they resign Kerry Wood again. What is wrong with this organization?

Lou Piniella will either bring a World Series to the Northsiders or he will destroy Wrigley Field with the many temper tantrums he will throw....

They certainly can't get any worse. That is for sure. Piniella is a great manager and I expect them to get better.

Lou's a good manager. But his managerial skill can only take the Cubs as far as the player's execution.

Just like every other Cubs manager, he'll start out great, maybe playoffs and then fade fast.
