I'm going to one for the first time and I'm wondering if they are fun or if its supposed to be all like boring or whatever.

You have friends and each couple has one item on the menu they serve at their house.

So you go to Jim and Patti's home for appetizer, Allen's house for salad, Donny and Mary's house for entree, Isabell and Ron's house for the cheese course or the sorbet, then Adam and Patricia's house for dessert.

It is fun, if all the participants are good cooks and everyone is on time.

They can be fun. It's what everyone makes it. People are in their own place and can be more relaxed and driving from house to house takes the pressure of continuous conversation off of everyone.
It's also fun if you carpool -- gossip time !!!!!!

Progressive dinners are great...you get to travel and try different people's food and drink...go with it...

we use to have them every christmas holiday season in a neighborhood that i lived in, in memphis. it really a lot of fun.
