This happened to me and it turned out that I was pregnant. I just had my baby boy on Nov. 2nd and I got the exact result, that you are getting now. I thought that I was not pregnant because I expected the test to be dark in both boxes. When I started to read the instructions on the box, this is when I knew that I had to be pregnant.

I still was in denial so I went to the doctors office to get a blood test done and it turned out positive.

Goto to the doctors for a more accurate result, it is 100%. The pregnany test is only 98% and that is still good.. Those test has never made a mistake on me.. Good Luck too you!!!!

the tests work by detecting the hormone hcg in your urine. the longer your urine has been in your bladder and the more concentrated your urine is the more hormone is present. if you took one test with your first pee of the day it will be darker. later in the same day it would be lighter. as time passes the line will become darker and darker. the lighter line was still a positive just for whatever reason not as much hcg in your urine as the time when you did the darker lined test.

IF- you are referring to the two lines on one test. like the one control line and the one test line and the test line was lighter than the control line its still positive. if the test line shows up at all you are pregnant. good luck

the first line is the control, it just means the test is working. the second line is what actually tells you if you are pregnant. It doesn't matter how light or dark the line is, if it shows up within the time specified in the directions, then you are pregnant.... It is light, because there are not a lot of hormones in your system yet....Good Luck :)

Congratulations! You are pregnant. You're 20 years old, so a lot of people may tell you that you're roo young, but take it from me - I was 21 when I got pregnant. It is hard, boy is it hard, but you know what? At least you and your baby will be close enough in age that you can share a truly special bond!

My mother was 22 when I was born and her and I are like best friends.

Good luck! Congratulations!

you are pregnant. the 2nd line is so faint because you are early in on the pregnancy. get a blood pregnancy test from your doctor to be 100% sure. the blood tests are 100% accurate. and don't listen to the first comment that was posted, it doesn't mean that your baby will die at all.. ignore him, he is an idiot.. you just caught your pregnancy early. go see your doctor and get the blood test.. everything is fine

HEY THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME WITH MY 2ND CHILD. I HAD 2 RETAKE THE TEST, THE GET A DOCTORS BLOOD TEST, BUT THE WAS NO MISTAKING I WAS PREGANT. YOU ARE PROBABLY PREGNANT BUT U NEED 2 GET A DOCTOR TO CHECK. UR HORMONE LEVELS ARE JUST NOT AS STRONG AT THIS MOMENT, AND A DOCTOR COULD TELL U ALOT MORE....... GOOD LUCK....

Because your body has different amounts of hormones at different parts of the day

because different tests pick up different levels of HCG hormones, or because the longer you wait to pee the more hormones are in your pee.
