It's completely unscrewed, but will not lift up off of the radiator. I need to add water to my engine until I can get some coolant, because it overheated a couple hours ago.

Does the water go into the reservoir that says "engine fluid only" rather than into the actual radiator? I really don't think my cap will come off.

it won't come off because it is still hot, give it time and let it cool, oh with some radiator caps the harder you turn, the worse it gets, try opening it real gentle, after it cools off.
and NO ~ it goes into the actual radiator.

If you have a radiator cap then the coolant goes in there. expansion bottle will not suck it up in time to keep your engine cool. thats why they put on a radiator cap. Many cars you have to put in in the tank, but assume the manufactor knew what he was doing since all cars are differant. You need to push down and turn at the same time. go for it.

OK PEOPLE THAT SAY THE CAP DOES NOT COME OFF ARE IDIOTS

you will need to push down and turn to get the cap off about a 1/4 turn it will come right off

dont add fluid to the expansion reservoir it will not drain to the radiator. pour fluids directly into the radiator

otherwise you will continue to overheat

I MEAN COME ON IF THEY ENGINEERED IT TO HAVE A CAP WHY WOULD IT NOT COME OFF. WHOEVER SAID THAT IS RETARDED

yes the water goes in the engine fluid only container but if the radiator is very low you need to fill it ask the dealer how to take the cap off

yes you can put the fluid in the "engine fluid only" the radiator will draw the fluid from there. also check to see if you have any leaks or if the exhaust smells like radiator fluid you may have a proble that may need attention.
