What kind of parties? For kids? Teens? Adults?

Besides singing (which may scare some people away), you may want to look at 'parlor' games. Have people test their memories about Christmas.

Put together some Christmas trivia questions. You can get lots of them from the Internet. Put people into teams and have them answer the questions. Sort of like Trivial Pursuit. Winners get some Christmas candy or something holiday related.

When your guests arrive, ask them to fill out a questionnaire. Only about 5-10 questions- relating to Christmas. Then, the "host" will ask the question and give the answer. The guests have to guess who answered it.

For example: What was your favorite Christmas gift as a kid?
You will probably get lots of answers like "football" "Barbie", etc.
Pick out an unusual answer and have the guests answer it.
I would stay away from very "personal" questions- ask general ones that could bring some funny answers.

Maybe do recipes- leave out a key ingredient and see who finds it, or, who can identify the dish!

last year at my Xmas party we had to make a reindeer with balloons and pantyhose. you have teams of people that blow up balloons and fill the pantyhose (not as easy as you might think) then someone has to wear it on their head.
