Because Byrd is a Dem. Everything they do is good & pure. Everything we Reps do is bad & dirty. I'm surprised you haven't learned that by now.

BTW Robert Byrd is back as President Pro Tem of the Senate.

get one thing straight.

liberals are not represented in US government.
the democratic leaders are MODERATES.
moderates are weak, they are wimsy, they just want to please everybody
spineless is the right word i think.
that goes for either party

i am liberal but don't confuse that with being a democrat.
and no i don't condone racist poloticians of any party. and i seriously doubt anybody in my party is a racist. i don't think many people can make that claim.

He is a democrat so it is all right to be a member of the KKK. OH YES. He renounced that didn't he.But a republican makes a raciest remark about a campaign worker & every one is all up in arms about it.But I gues that is the differance between the democrats & the republican. The democrates welcome raciest in their ranks where republicans do not.

The people elected him and apparently forgiven him.

Its not like we made him our #2 guy!!!!!

Remember, Lott is an ACTIVE racist. His opposition of the MLK holiday, his comments on Thurman, opposition to black judges, this is all recent activity.
