The brilliant mathematicians I know (and I do know a few) are very sensible and pleasant people. What are you basing this ridiculous assumption on? Or are you hoping that being bad at math can be twisted into a positive thing?

Since math is an applied science, your logic doesn't make sense.
I have 2 math degrees (one is a Masters) and a very good job dealing with Financing of Pensions.
Oh and I don't need a calculator to figure out how much change I get from a $10 bill and I usually have the tax figure out before hand. That's pretty real world.

do you should flow to school to study writing skills? no favor. If yours are decrease than impressive, take a unmarried type, perhaps 2, on the community college, or spend the time to sit down down with a very good grammar textbook and study all of it. actually. do you should flow to school to be an more advantageous author? likely. There you're especially likely to fulfill people very compared to your self or anybody you recognize. Writers favor to fulfill and observe a tremendous style or they're doomed to jot down purely about people like themselves. besides the undeniable fact that, if you're making a significant aspect of going outdoors your convenience zone on your common existence, you may meet a spread of kinds elsewhere. difficulty is, maximum aspiring writers who say they'll attempt this, do not. do you should flow to school to have an more advantageous existence? Hell, sure. Median universal Weekly income--pay formerly all deductions, taxes, withholding, etc., without extra pay for extra time or bonuses--exhibits a good away correlation to how a lot practise the salary-earner has, unrelated to no matter if the interest has any connection to what the worker studied. those who're severe college graduates without college earned $618 a week. those who earned a bachelor’s degree in college earned $a million, one hundred fifteen a week. trust me, you want the better salary.

Peoples brains work differently and the "math part" may be more developed than the "parctical living" part. In fact, I saw something recently where they showed people who performed on the piano in front of audiences and could reproduce music just by hearing it but these people could not count or dress themselves. We're all different......

Funny, I seem to have no problem applying math to real-world problems. Are you certain that you aren't just stereotyping?

I have never encountered such a phenomenon. In my experience, experts in higher mathematics typically do just fine in dealing with real-world problems.
