Im almost 18 athletic and I broke my right pinky finger 8 days ago and it was swollen the first few days but right now isn;t significantly swollen. I saw the Dr he said I could resume playing basketball after 21days (from the day i hurt it), however he also said it takes about 6 weeks for the bone to fully heal. I get pain in it when I put pressure on it, and am wondering if three weeks is enough ?

not so much...you should probably buddy tape it if you're going to do anything, or wear a splint. it does take about 6 weeks for the bone to completely heal...so up until then it is more susceptible to get hurt, plus it will take much less force to hurt it than it took before... keep it protected for the time being...

Okay, I jammed my finger a million times because I'm a poor ball player, but half the time i didn't even have a brace and STILL played basketball. You can still play, but I dont recommend it. You might hit it again and it'll make the healing process a lot more painful and take more time. but if you want to, go for it, I just took it like a man, bit my lower lip and continued to be a dork with the ball and now, My fingers a 100% A Okay!

I think you should wait just a little while longer, because it might hurt your pinky bone if you put more and more pressure on it.
