When I try to launch the game it says gameinfo.txt does not exist in hl2. What should I do?

U gotta have the cd. And the cd-key. Its best to buy it right from Steam online though.

I don't have this problem. I installed it, authorized it and then i just started playing it, but i had a communication breakdown, then the client said that i have no web connection so i won't be able to play it online and the achievements won't count, but the whole thing runs smooth offline, i'd say smoother than when it's connected. I have a mac but i don't think that it's the issue. Well, the other option is to play as a guest i think. So, when i unplug the cord and try to log in the message goes like you have no connection blah blah would you like to play offline and i say yes and log in. If it won't work - don't worry, the wise guys from all the fan clubs are figuring out the solution already.

Don?t use the same tactic to your enemies because they won?t have the same qualities. You have to think which one fixes better and then try to eliminate them.
