A-ha (Band from the 80's) My wife and I were having a bit of a discussion. I say the song "Take on me" would be well known in the U.S. and she says A-Ha didnt make it at all in America so therefore that song would be little known!

Take on me got to no.1 there back in 1985 and their debut album Hunting high and low was top 10 - not sure what position it got to tho.
A-Ha hit the jackpot with the James Bond theme The Living Daylights back in 1987. It was in the charts then and according to my mom, a permanent fixture on mtv.

A-Ha - Take on Me was a classic one hit wonder and was even on VH1's top 100 one hit wonders. They did a spoof of the video on family guy.

Well, if ANY song by A-HA is known throughout the world, it's "Take on me"....so I think YOU are right. (mind you, I can't prove it with statistics)
