This one can get you in alot of trouble depending on the state. Such as Utah, If your working in the state you have 3 months to get a new license plates and a new drivers license as well. They can be really nasty about it, so check your local DMV and ask. Meanwhile don't get stopped.

The amount of time varies from state to state. In Pennsylvania, you have 20 days after establishing residency to title and register your vehicle. The vehicle must then pass state inspection (safety inspection statewide, and in some counties, also an emissions inspection) within 10 days following the registration date.

In CT you have 60 days once you establish a permanent address. If you are in military or going to school and still have the residency of you state you do not have to change. I would suggest you call the Motor Vehicle Dpt or Local police station for the exact information for your location

In some states, it is required to pay the registration fees as soon as you are gainfully employed.
Others give you 30-90 days.

some states give you 30 days and some give you up to six months thing is if they see you going to work daily they may catch you and give you a ticket and it will not be for no foot ball game either.
