Ok is a guy who "everybody in school wants" worth losing your best friend over. He will probally dump you for the next one after a couple of weeks, and you would have lost a very valuable friend. I would say talk to her, and let her know that you love her and aren't trying to hurt her, but you would like to "go out with him", as a friend she should understand, but be careful, she may say it's ok, then try to sabotage your relationship with him out of jealousy. Sad to say, but it does happen. Then you may lose them both. This is a very sticky situation, me and my best friend of 30 years, always had one simple rule we never dares to share. Guys are always around, and we just picked different ones, all the time. So as not to hurt each other in anyway. I can't tell you what may be best for you, but think about all the options. BTW, how many girls has this guy been out with, and how long have his other relationships lasted. If he's a love 'em and leave 'em, type of guy, then he really isn't worth the pain.

This is a pretty classic problem. My advice is tell your friend what you heard and how you feel. Tell her how much you like this guy. Then ask her if it's okay with her if you go out with him. She will probably be moved by the fact that you asked her first.
If she says no, then you have to decide which is more important; a very, very good friend or a very, very hot boy. How long can you see this relationship lasting? How long can you see your friendship lasting?

That's a Tuffy, How would you feel if your friend did that to you? Is your friendship of such little importance that you are willing to lose it over some guy? Guys will come and go for the rest of your life, but you are very fortunate to have a good friend.

Instead of let your best friend choose the hottest guy, shouldn't you let this hottest guy choose who he want to go out with? Not matter how obsessed your best friend is with this guy, if the guy don't like her, it make no different whether you go out with him or not.

Well it depends really on whether or not you want to hurt you "BFFL" - she may say she doesn't care but if she likes him they she may care if this guy likes you...i tend to agree with the comment about choosing your best friend over the hottest guy in school who would prob cheat on u
your choice...what are u willing to lose?

Well. sit down and have a talk with you friend. tell her to be serious and not to joke around. then ask her. if she says that she would like not be friends with you then you have to think who is mor important your best friends of the hot guy in school.
if shes a really good friend she would let you go out with him. but if not then its your call.

the thing you have to ask yourself is, who's friendship to you value more? you're "best friend for life" or a really popular guy that sounds like he would cheat on you? I know, hottness is really hard to resist, but think about it...

Go for it!!!
You like him right, then your friend needs to respect that. Unless she likes also then taht would explain her telling you not too.
