The genres shown in Wikipedia are pop, pop rock, pop punk, punk rock, and skate rock. I think of her more on the rock side than pop side. It's in her look and style of performing. She's more a rocker.

shes more of a punk/rock/alternative with some added pop tracks...her look is more punk.

i think she's more into the punk scene. who knows, she's married now so maybe she'll have some different inspiration. oh and it's spelled Lavigne.
