Okay I know Borat is a kinda funny, kinda obnoxious guy supposably from "Kazahkstan", but why does he have higher ratings than the new Will Ferrel movie "Stranger Than Fiction"? Leave me your opinions.
If you get a chance, don't see Borat, go see Stranger Than Fiction. It is an incredible movie, maybe even a life changing movie. (and its not a comedy like Anchorman.)

No movie like "Borat" has ever been made by a major American movie studio before. Its combination of scripted scenes and documentary footage makes it far different and more original than Will Ferrel's movie, which is just another good scripted movie. "Borat" also functions as a critique of American culture (or parts of it at least) and is especially good at exposing the kind of ignorance and bigotry that Americans are always saying doesn't exist here. Lastly, "Borat" is really funny!

It happens. That's why I like to keep the lines of communication open. If I have had a few "chats" through the available email that is on this site beforehand, then when I see an answer that others think is "out of line", I will know what they are referring to & the readers won't. Sometimes, it's better if people have secrets until they know who they are really dealing with! There is a LOT of deception that goes on in the internet world...just like real life! Darn...I was expecting the internet to be better than that. I think it WAS in the beginning, when this site had better screening to stop the abuse. Now we just gotta roll with the punches & hope someone hears our cries for help! What was the question? ratings, higher rating for friends? Naw...just more fun when you understand the motivation behind the words of the other members!

Borat has the shock value going for it. It's something that has never been done before. Stranger, while an interesting concept, seems to fall in line with a lot of movies from the past few years.

It's probably funnier and better written. As much as I want to see "Stranger...", Ferrel's movies weren't so hot lately.

The critics obviously thought it was better.Me personally.I think Stranger than fiction looks better.

Because he showed what dumb-asses people are and makes fools out of them. He makes fools out of bigots too. People love seeing that and the lawsuits are only making the people in the movie as bigger dumb-asses and it makes it funnier.
