I would go to Woodstock just for the experience of it all.

Okay... this is incredibly geeky but...

I would go back in time to hear the first ever performance of Beethoven's 5th symphony. It represented such a change in the musical genre of the day that the audience are said to have run screaming from the concert hall.

That's probably not true... but...
Back then, the world was a lot quieter, so people's ears were much less tainted with car sounds and airplanes and tv and radios, and stuff like that. So they could experience the music more purely, and it was totally different, amazing and new and I would love to have been there for that.

The Specials in their early days.
The Beatles in Hamburg

The Stones before they became parodies of themselves.
The first Sex Pistols gig

Sorry, I can't decide!

Tommy at the Rainbow Theatre, London 1972. The concert featured The Who, plus an all-star guest cast, backed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Measham.

Both in concert and on record, major singing roles were performed by leading pop and rock stars of the day -- David Essex, Maggie Bell, Sandy Denny, Steve Winwood, Rod Stewart, Richie Havens and Ringo Starr.

It was brilliant and I would love to see it again.

I'd go for Dylan in Greenwich or Soho playing those coffee houses before he was big. The intimacy & passion. *sigh*

I agree with Beethoven but 9th for me. All those wolves expecting egg & then bam! What a piece.

Hendrix would have been cool, as would early Elvis & Beatles.

Stravinsky's Rite of Spring for the crowd.
