Others already made a good list:

The "good guys" - or the Allies:

*Britain
*Soviets
*America

Those were the major ones not run over by Hitler.

The "bad guys" (Axis Powers):

*Germany
*Italy (wanna be's)
*Japan

Of course, as others mentioned, there were many, many other affected countries. Example: Canada...they sent people to fight.

The only exceptions really were the Neutral countries. I can't quite remember the official ones, but this is what I think:

*Switzerland (I know that one)
*Sweden (I think)
*Portugal (or Spain, or both...not quite sure)

Also, most South American countries didn't really get involved, just as most African countries didn't. But the northern African countries such as Egypt, Ethiopia, etc, were involved.
