To be honest with u, i am not going to wait in the line for PS3, because i have a life. However, there maybe a good news for the one who wondering around about the shortage of PS3. Sony Entertainment had announced that on December 15th, SonyStyle will have enough PS3 to be sell to people who attent for ONLY $450 - $500 US. The bad news is, the SonyStyle will took place in Asia so my conversion of Yen to Dollar is vary. And as people mentioned before, i do think that there will be Crazy Gamers who will go to the other half of the Earth for a game console which I don't recommand that to happen.

Shortage will still be happen but not in Asia...

Several reasons:

1. Some people just can't wait. With the problem that Sony is having, it might be a very long time before the PS3 becomes widely available.

2. Some people are going to sell it on E-Bay just to make a few quick bucks, or in this case, a few hundred quick bucks.

3. Some people do it for the camaraderie.

There are people who are willing to buy the PS3 on debut day. The PS3 will have a shortage and that's why people will wait in line for the PS3.

My classmate's family is waiting outside a Best Buy for the PS3 to ship in and they're gonna buy a few consoles and sell them on eBay, and as mentioned earlier, some hardcore gamers out there are willing to buy the PS3 for a crapload of money.

Some people are what is called "Die hard video gamers". What would feel better if you were a "Die Hard Gamer"? Waiting for Christmas, or being the first one to get the system and play it a month+ earlier. I'm not trying to sound mean in any way, by saying this, but for some people video games are their life, and if being first makes them content, then there is no point in questioning them.

I myself, though, think that it is going a little extreme to wait for so long or stay up so late.

No you can't. With something like that, it'll sell out on debut day and not be available again for 6 months. Nintendo is currently making a lot more Wii than Sony PS3. Though that'll run out just as quickly, you'll be able to get one faster than PS3.

umm...like...nooooo....
of course it will be sold out after christmas. Havent you heard? Theres a PS3 shortage!!! thats why people are willing to pay over $2000 on ebay. Yes $two zero zero zero, twothousand dollars. Now THAT is stupid and geeky.
(a lot of people (and merchants) are willing to line up for this exact reason: make a profit)

Good question. That's exactly what I am doing, not to mention that I need to make sure that I have the means to spend 600 dollars on a system alone. My suggestion: Get an XBOX 360 or a Wii (which comes out within a month).
