we as a society have a very short attention span, sure the corruption and all you speak of still goes on, but if the news media thinks it no longer much of a story, they simply drop it, you must remember the media are in it for a profit, so they have a "if it bleeds it leads" mentality, and anything that gets them ration and is sensational will be front page news, until the ratings for that issue drop, then it's off to the next news story. you must also keep in mind the news media are in competiton from the internet, ipods and other outlets of media, this is why they go for the most sensational stories to keep your very limited attention span.

Police still patrol the streets to take care of crime, there are plenty of self-help groups and jail time to hand out to people who are addicted to drugs and white collar crimes are rarer than you think. Our full attention may be on Iraq, but that's because it's outcome could snowball and have greater effects than these crimes.

i think about that alot.

i think iraq is just a display of pure desperation.
i think the america way just isn't working. i think bush deep down knew he'd fail in iraq but did it anyway becasue he had no other options.
just think what the country would look like without the events of
9/11. think how popular bush would've been a couple more years into it. think about the other things people would have to talk about on the news.
my opinion is it's just ellaborte BS.

We should have one on every street corner. A few executions and the crime rate would plummet overnight. The CareBear approch does not work so the hardline approach would send a few shockwaves around the place. At the end of the day no crime equals no executions...the criminal has the choice.

The Republicans weren't getting any bump out of those issues, so they dropped or hid those issues.
