If you are referring to band in school, I would say no it isn't weird. Sometimes your teacher can put you on the spot, or you don't feel as polished as the next kid. What ever it is, the whole experience is nerve wracking for a lot of kids. Those who like it will continue the course the following year. Those who don't like it simply drop the course. My band experience was weird too. The first year I pretty much liked it, and was an ok player. The second year I loved it and was first chair. The next year (the last year) band got lost in all my personal drama and I dropped out. I still love playing the flute, the class just wasn't right for me. If you like playing the instrument don't get discouraged just because band class isn't going well for you, and if you don't like playing the instrument look at this experience as an enlightenment then move on to something you do like. If you can't drop out of the class just yet hang in there. Through out time, there have been so many kids to despise band class. You aren't the only one. No it is not weird

NO Claire.......It's not weird. I have no idea what reasons you'd give now......I know how it went with me. I played B Coronet, as I got better, Mellow phone, French Horn. When I first took an interest in band, it was like......oh yeah....this is cool......as time rolled on and I got older, the people changed, I didn't like it as much. When I got to be around sixteen(16), seventeen(17), the people I wanted to hang out with thought band was lame, slowly but surely, so did I. The reasons that drew me to it in the beginning, weren't as strong any longer.....eventually, I said that's it band and I got a "divorce". I felt like this.......I was miserable, I drug that box ( which got heavier and heavier everyday) every practice, the dislike didn't go away. Finally it hit me, " why should I keep doing this if I was unhappy" that was it, I quit, after that, I was my old self again. I had no regrets....still don't. You'll have to make your own decisions, I for one, don't think you're weird at all. GOOD LUCK......On whatever you decide..........LATER

no i hate it too because everyone is always talking and getting the conductor mad and the percussion players go too fast on purpose to screw the rest of us up and i've been trying to switch instruments and the conductor wants me to stay with the one i'm playing.
