This question reeks of insecurity. Instead being threatened by her flirting, try to understand that she's going through a very difficult time in her life. The fact that she confides in you means something, so don't let her down. Just try to be a good friend. She's obviously not ready for others to know her situation, and maybe this is her way of making sure they don't figure it out? I hope you are't about to open your mouth about this in jealousy.

First, what makes you think she's a lesbian? The behavior you describe makes her sound bi. Since both straights and gays claim bis don't exist and you have to choose, she may just be a bi who has chosen to pretend to be straight as opposed to a bi who chooses to pretend to be gay.
Second, the term "flirting" carries a variety of connotations, a little harmless flirting can be fun and does no harm as long as parameters are respected. I flirt with married women all the time, it's understood by all that it's in fun and nothing is expected to come of it. If she's actually hitting on your boyfriend, that is a different matter and should be addressed as such.

Some people are just flirts. They flirt with everyone, even people they're not attracted to, because it's a thrill to them. I even know straight guys who flirt with gay guys just to get a reaction from them. I think people do this to boost their self-esteem.

i'm a lesbian, and i flirt with guys all the time. actually, i flirt with everyone - gay, straight, confused, whatever. i'm a flirter. maybe your friend is the same way. she could just be confused about her sexuality and be testing it out by flirting with your boyfriend. talk to her about it if it bothers you that much.

Either: (1) she's straight and lying to you, (2) she's bi, (3) she is gay but she's trying too hard to fool everyone. Ask her which it is.
