You have probably figured out that no number will make this statement true. But don't forget about zero.
You will also find problems where even zero does not work. In those cases, "no solution" is the correct answer.

So your problem is 0.50n = 0.90n ?

There is no solution. It proves false for every value you enter for n. If the variables were different, then you could solve it. Or if there were more to the problem, say by adding or subtracting an integer, but if this is your problem, then it cannot be solved.

I mean, you could plug in zero, but why would you wanna do that?

You have n on both sides of the equation. Take one out. Otherwise there is no solution to this, and it is false. Unless n=0. But that would seem like nonsense a bit... >.>;;

Until then, I'll show you 0.5n and 0.9n and how to solve for N

Undo what was done to n.

Say your equation was 0.5n=0.9
Divide both sides by 0.5=
0.5n/0.5=0.9/0.5=
n=1.8

If your equation was 0.5=0.9n
Divide both sides by 0.9=
0.5/0.9=0.9n/0.9=
0.5 repeating=n

0.05n=0.09n

0.05n-0.09n=0.0.9n-0.09n<---subtract 0.09n from both sides

-0.04n 0
-------- = --- <---divide both sides by -0.04
-0.04 -0.04

n=0
