If you have to ask here, you should not be piercing yourself.
I'm sure you are aware that using improper tools and aftercare will cause lots of problems. I'm also guessing you don't have proper jewelry to use either. You might get an infection, but you are almost certain to have off center piercings that don't look symmetrical. Do not buy a piercing gun kit, piercing guns are unsafe. And unlike some of the people above, I know that ALCOHOL does NOT disinfect anything.

Like I said, if you don't know what you are doing, then you shouldn't do it.
As a professional and someone who knows what she is doing, I am not going to help you, rather just suggest you go to a professional. Trust me, ear piercings are not expensive.

you have to clean the area really really well. Then you can use ice, a sharp needle and something to put behind your ear like an apple to absorb the needle when you poke. There are better ways to do this you know. Many places will do it for free. It is a much better and cleaner bet.

CLEAN sewing needle, apple, ice, disinfectant alcohol.
If you ask me though, doing it by yourself spells infection, plain and clear. It is so much safer to do it with at the Piercing Pagoda at the mall, and it hurts less too (because they do it a special way, it's so fast you dont even feel it). Besides, it's free with the purchase of your post earring.

Um, are you crazy? The resounding answer to your question is, there is no good way to pierce your ears by yourself. Im certain that if you do try to pierce them by yourself, you will be very disapointed with the results. Please believe me, i speak from experience. GO TO A PROFESSIONAL!!!!!

**I really really don't recommend this at all!!!!**
But since you asked if you must do it I would have a friend do it since it sucks to hurt yourself. I let my friend do mine a few years ago and afterwards I used rubbing alcohol to help keep them clean. And I just kept earrings in for a long time till they healed. Another warning though it is possible to get hepatitus from piercing yourself

Use a needle at least 14 inches long so you can do them both at the same time. Just go to a mall and get it done inexpensively by someone that knows what they are doing.
