I thought Emmet would win because he improved so tremendously, and he was a better sport.
Mario is too stuck on himself, and gave the impression that he thought, he should win. Remember, too, he started out good and had the natural ability, but didn't really improve from when the show began. Mario is a very good dancer, but he already had the skill when he started.
Emmet started out quite clumsy, and really wasn't that good, (not as bad as Jerry Springer),
and at the end he was very.....very... good.

I think when the judges created a tie, they basically took any consideration of actual ability out of the choice and there was nothing left but a popularity contest.
Don't get me wrong, I think Emmitt is fine, and am not outraged by the final results (like I was the first season when Kelly beat John O'Hurley). However, I wish this show was more about the actual dancing performance and talent and less about who has the best fan base. (Heck, Sara Evans would have probably have won due to the country music fan base if she hadn't quit, and she was NOT that good of a dancer).

I thought Mario was by far the better dancer but Emmett had the popular vote. He really did make the biggest improvement throughout the series and that seems to be a lot of what they base it on. I thought it was really good this year.
Cheryl Burke is amazing too!

Mario was a good dancer, but not a very good sport. His post interviews were not that flattering to Emmitt and Cheryl. It was a dancing competiion, but he just didn't win over the audience. I'm happy for Emmitt and Cheryl....Cheryl Burke rocks!

DWTS is always great, and it was nice to see all the stars from this season in the final. Tucker actually danced!

Hooray for Emmitt! Macho men everywhere no longer have an excuse to sit out dancing with their wives/partners at wedding receptions, etc.!

I think it was great!!
the only thing that could have been better than Emmitt winning,would have been a tie for Emmitt and Mario
they were both fantastic
I love Cheryl Burke too

i think we all knew that emmitt was going to win because everyone was sayin how mario is such a good dancer and that he could dance professionally. and the people like someone like emmitt who had like no dancing background and came out of playing football? yeah i believe it was football. newho he just related to alot more people/men than pretty boy mario did.

Because Emmet has such a fan base I kinda knew he was going to win, he was good no doubt about it, but I went with Mario for the vote. he had a nice style, they are both great, Don't you think Mario's partner was kinda disappointed last nite, you could see it in her face.

I'm not much of a fan of either of the finalists --- although with emmets former profession, his footwork was going to win out!
I didn't like any of the so-called STARs they had this season except maybe Harry Hamlin but he's lost so much weight he looks "sick"..
